Carmenere is often known as the “lost grape” of Bordeaux. As one of the six original Bordeaux varietals, it has nearly disappeared from its native region, but has since reemerged elsewhere. Eastern Washington’s dry, arid climate provides Carmenere with optimal growing conditions. Our Carmenere was fermented in open top bins, with twice daily punch downs, and aged for 17 months in barrel. This Carmenere presents its characteristic green pepper aroma, along with wonderful flavors of plum, raspberry, and earthy notes.
