2017 Desert Wind Tempranillo
Tempranillo is the most popular and important red grape varietal in its native homeland of Spain. Tempranillo has also begun to steadily increase in popularity in the Pacific Northwest, and our Desert Wind vineyard provides ideal conditions for this varietal to truly shine. The grapes were fermented in open top bins with twice daily punch downs to carefully extract the tannins and wonderful fruit flavors. After fermentation, the wine was aged for 18 months in barrel. The resulting wine is medium-bodied with fruit flavors of strawberry and plum.
